PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make compact, to the utmost, a light emitter for emitting light to an optical fiber and a light receiver for receiving light from the optical fiber, in an optical fiber type collision detection device of a vehicle. SOLUTION: This collision detection device of the vehicle is equipped with one optical fiber 26 arranged along a prescribed part 10 of the vehicle; a light emitting element 32 arranged on one end side of the optical fiber, for allowing light to enter one end; an inversion part 42 arranged on the other end side of the optical fiber, for inverting the advancing direction of light emitted from the other end, and allowing the light to enter the other end; and a light receiving element 34 arranged on one end side of the optical fiber, for receiving light emitted from the other end.
