PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing blanket, which has a uniform thickness and consequently is excellent in stability and, in addition, easy for manufacturing by a method wherein a support layer is made of a woven fabric and prevented from being swollen by a dampening water and a detergent. SOLUTION: This printing blanket has a support layer at least made of one woven fabric layer and a surface rubber layer acting as a printing surface under the condition that the end part of an under layer support layer made of the woven fabric is sealed with a sealant so as not to be permeated by the dampening water, detergent or the like. A blanket with a self-adhesive having a self-adhesive layer on the under surface of the support layer may be allowable as the printing blanket. As the sealant, either one between a one-pack type one and a two-pack type one may be allowable. In the case of the two-pack type sealant, the sealant consists of a sealing liquid and a curing liquid under the condition that the hardness after curing is set to be not more than 90 in JIS-A and the referable viscosity of the sealing liquid is set to be not more than 1 Pa s. How to deal with the sealant consists of the first coating of the sealing liquid followed by the spraying of the curing liquid. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
