PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing brush hair material superior in acid resistance and wet heat resistance to a conventional polishing brush hair material and suitable for the acid-solution washing and polishing of a stainless steel plate, and to provide a polishing brush. SOLUTION: The polishing brush hair material uses a monofilament as a raw material formed of a mixture that 5-65 pts.wt polishing abrasive grains mixed in a 100 pts.wt resin composition composed of a 99.5-66.5 wt% polyester resin, a 0.3-3.5 wt% carbodiimide compound, and a 0.2-30 wt% polystyrene resin having a syndiotactic structure.
