METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING ADDRESS SPOOFING IN A COMPUTER NETWORK

The invention concerns a method for detecting address spoofing in a computer network to allow through or not data to addressed to a network (1, 8). Upon receiving data emitted by a device (5) connected to an access medium (2) to said network, a filter (7) performs the following steps: a) emitting a stimulus addressed to the device, to obtain a response based on the stimulus and on the operating characteristics of the device; b) receiving a response from the device (5) and analyzing same to form an identification fingerprint of the device including a network address of said device and a signature representing the operating characteristics of the device; c) comparing the fingerprint formed with a valid identification fingerprint of the device; d) if the formed fingerprint includes an address corresponding to the valid identification fingerprint of the device but with a signature different from that of the valid identification fingerprint, detecting a network address spoofing of the device.
