In a color material mixing ratio calculating device (100), a target color specific value calculating section (121) computes the a* and b* values of each target color in the L*a*b* color system for three light sources. A hue-angle range computing section (122) computes the range of the hue angle containing the three target colors. A mixing resultant color specific value computing section (124) computes the a* and b* values of the color material mixing results from a temporary mixing ratio and the corresponding spectral reflectance information in a color matching DB (112). A hue-angle range judging section (125) judges whether or not the a* and b* values are within the hue-angle range of each of the target colors. A color difference computing section (126) computes a color difference, and a center-of-gravity range judging section (128) judges whether or not the center of gravity of the triangle defined by the color differences is within a certain range. An output section (160) outputs the color material mixing ratio if the result of the mixing is within the hue-angle range and the coordinates of the center of gravity is within a certain range.
