METHOD OF OIL EXTRACTION, SUCH AS CORN OIL

A low energy and low cost method for extracting oil from crushed grains, seeds, nuts, and legumes using a halogenated solvent. Brominated solvents are preferred. In a preferred embodiment, n-PB is used to extract corn oil from crushed corn kernels. Very little energy is used, both to extract the oil from the seed, nut or legume and to separate the oil from the solvent.
