A method of producing a textile article having a UV-protective finish comprising: providing a continuous supply of a textile substrate having a width; providing an array of digital nozzles over the width of the textile article; supplying a UV-protective formulation to the nozzles; and selectively dispensing the UV-protective formulation in a predetermined pattern from the nozzles to produce a substantially complete covering of the substrate.
