<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device and an image processing system capable of authenticating a user or setting the device by combining and using a plurality of sheets and an image recording device capable of preparing the sheets for the device and the system. <P>SOLUTION: In the image recording device, a control section decides whether or not the preparation of authentication paper is indicated or the preparation of setting paper is indicated (S12 and S14) when the preparations of authentication paper and setting paper are indicated through a user interface (S11:YES). When the preparation of authentication paper is indicated (S12:YES), an authentication code is set (S13), the usage of paper and the combination of patterns are determined (S17) and the preparation processings of authentication paper and setting paper are carried out (S19). When the preparation of setting paper is indicated (S14:YES), the input of setting conditions regarding a used function is required (S15).
