<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyurethane material useful in a coating composition that can and may be coated on a substrate by an electrodeposition coating method and a non-electrodeposition coating method. <P>SOLUTION: The polyurethane material, the coating prepared therefrom and the method for manufacturing these are provided. The polyurethane material can be formed from components comprising at least one polyisocyanate, at least one active hydrogen-containing material, at least one material containing at least one primary or secondary amino group and at least one hydroxy group, and at least one acid functional material or an anhydride containing a functional group reactive with an isocyanate group or a hydroxy group in the other components constituting the polyurethane material.
