摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a plastic optical fiber composed of stacked core, clad and protection tube having small variation in clad diameter and core diameter at a single process. SOLUTION: A resin for protection tube, a resin for clad and a resin for core are simultaneously extruded. A metallic mold has a first annular opening, a second annular opening and a third opening. The resin for protection tube is extruded from the first annular opening and hardened in a forming liquid along the outer periphery of a first guide pipe projected from the inside of the first annular opening to form the protection tube, the resin for clad is extruded from the second annular opening and hardened along the outer periphery of the second guide pipe projected in the inside of the second annular opening to form a clad layer, the resin for core is forcibly injected from the third opening, passing through a second guide pipe, and injected from the end of the second guide pipe into the clad layer and hardened. The plastic optical fiber is formed under the condition that the injection pressure of the resin for core and the pressure of the forming liquid via the protection tube layer and the clad layer are balanced.
