PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tumbler switch and a slide switch with the small number of parts, with three or more switching times of electric connection states, and capable of arranging a contact mechanism on either face of a substrate. SOLUTION: The switch is provided with a substrate 10 with fixed contacts 10a to 10e, an operating knob 12 rocking within a plane Z parallel with a line connecting the fixed contacts 10a, 10b, a spring-like contactor 16 with its center engaged with the operating knob and with movable contacts 16a to 16d at both ends in symmetrical contact with the substrate 10, a guide stand 14 guiding movement of the operating knob 12 with a recess 14k, and an spring pressing the operating knob 12 down to the recess 14k. When operating force is not applied to the operating knob 12, it is in contact with a bottom of the recess 14k by the spring force to have the movable contacts 16a to 16d in contact with the fixed contact 10e, and when operating force is applied to the operating knob 12, it rocks to have the movable contacts 16a to 16d at the rocking side in contact with the fixed contacts 10a to 10d, and have the movable contacts 16a to 16d of the opposite side in contact with the fixed contact 10e.
