PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance security by detecting the short circuit of a heating element and surely stopping the apparatus in the planar heating apparatus. SOLUTION: A current detecting means 17 to detect the current of a first heating wire 15 or a second heating wire 16 is provided; when the current value detected by the current detecting means 17 is above the predetermined value, it is determined that a short-circuit has occurred between two heating wires 15, 16; and the apparatus is stopped by forcibly opening a current interruption means 18.
