PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position estimation system which can estimate the position of a wireless tag with high precision. SOLUTION: The position estimation system includes a central computer and a plurality of wireless tag readers 14. At a detection time, on the basis of information on reception radio wave intensity, the existing probability of the wireless tag 16 in the area of each reader 14 is calculated. The existing probability of the tag 16 at a place to which it has moved estimated from the history of the tag 16 is calculated. The existing probability of the tag 16 at a place to which it has moved estimated in accordance with whether attraction or repulsion acts on the barycentric coordinates of the tag 16 having human relations or not is calculated. The existing probability of the tag 16 at a place to which it has moved estimated in accordance with whether attraction acts on the coordinates of an influencing body 24 existing in an environment 20 around the tag 16 or not is calculated. The barycentric coordinates of a place with the maximum existing probability is calculated, and the coordinates are recorded as the estimated position coordinates of the tag 16 at the detection time.
