PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscous body damper capable of changing the shear resistance force of a viscous body in the course of relative movement of a resistance member and a container side in a simple construction. SOLUTION: A thickness dimension of the viscous body 3 between the resistance member 4 and the container 2 side and/or a sheared area of the viscous body 3 by the resistance member 4 and by the container 2 side are adapted to change in the course of relative movement of the resistance member 4 and the container 2 side.
