PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire for heavy load capable of preventing any positional deviation in the blow-out direction of a carcass cord and enhancing the durability of a bead while suppressing breakage of the carcass cord. SOLUTION: A ply turnback part 6b of a carcass 6 has a sub part 11 which extends in an inclined manner toward a ply body part 6a in a vicinity of an outer surface SU in the tire radial direction of a bead core 5, and has an auxiliary cord layer 20 for holding the sub part with a steel cord 20w wound in the tire circumferential direction on the outer side in its radial direction. The distance La from the outer surface SU of a tip 11a of the sub part 11 is set to be 1.0-10 mm, and the distance d between the tip 11a and an outer end 5e in the tire axial direction of the bead core 5 is set to be≥5 mm. Further, a U-shaped bead reinforcing layer 15 is provided on a bead part 4, and the height Hi in the radial direction of an inner piece 15i is set to be larger than the height Ho in the radial direction of an outer piece 15o, and the height Ho is set to be≥25 mm.
