PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing instant green tea having unclear dark green water color with less redness and suppressed in production of discoloration and deterioration odor caused by photodegradation during preservation after production. SOLUTION: This method for producing the instant green tea comprises bringing powdered tea into contact with a solution obtained by dissolving an antioxidant such as ascorbic acid for antioxidation treatment, adding the obtained powdered tea subjected to antioxidation treatment to tea extract or concentrated liquid of tea extract and drying the product.
