PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always highly accurately position a non-contact temperature sensor for detecting the surface temperature of a heat roller for a fixing apparatus with reference to the heat roller, to improve the temperature detection accuracy of the temperature sensor, to appropriately control the temperature of the heat roller, to improve fixing property and to improve image quality. SOLUTION: A support plate having the infrared temperature sensor fixedly arranged while striking its arm against the roller shaft of the heat roller is always highly accurately positioned to the heat roller by taking the roller shaft as a reference.
