The coupler has two similar valve units (1), each having an switching sleeve which is insertable into a longitudinal hole (22) in a valve housing. The switching sleeve has a hollow cylinder (30) in which a press sleeve (4) is displaced. A spring (5) acts on the press sleeve. An axially symmetrical closure piston (6) is guided in the press sleeve. Switching elements (7) and seals (81 to 83) are evenly arranged along an annular surface.
