<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus provided with a cooling device capable of preventing heat from a fixation section from influencing its peripheral part when an air blowing member stops. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus which has the fixation section 1 and an imaging section 2, cuts off heat conduction from the fixation section 1 to the imaging section 2, and discharges the heat to outside a primary apparatus body 100, the cooling device 3 has a heat receiving member 4 which cuts off heat conduction and receives the heat, a duct member 5 whose ends both communicate with the outside of the primary apparatus body 100, a heat sink member 6 arranged on the duct member 5, a heat pipe member 7 which transports the heat of the heat receiving member 4 to the heat sink member 6, and the air blowing member 8 which introduces outside air in the duct member 5 to generate a cooling air current. While the air blowing member 8 stops blowing air, the top and bottom of the duct 5 are opened to generate natural convection from the bottom opening to the top opening, so that the heat of the heat sink member 6 is discharged to outside the primary apparatus body 100 by the natural convection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
