PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein, even in a dual memory configuration, a continuous operation of a computer may be disabled to lower the reliability of the computer. SOLUTION: A dual storage device comprising: first and second memories for holding the same data; and a selector for selecting either of data read from the first and second memories respectively in response to an input read control signal has: a request management part for, when the read control signal is input, adding an identifier identifying the read control signal to the input read control signal before outputting it; and a plurality of memory control parts for each of the first and second memories. The dual storage device checks the consistency of the identifier added by the request management part in detecting a synchronization error, and controls the selector such that the data from a system free from synchronization error detection is used out of the data read from the first memory and the data read from the second memory.
