PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device and a communication method capable of confirming a transmission destination when transmitting a facsimile, or the like. SOLUTION: When a facsimile is transmitted, first a facsimile number is inputted. Then, a communication history is retrieved with the facsimile number as a keyword, and a destination confirmation screen for prompting a user to confirm the destination is displayed with transmission destination information and information on a transmission count, or the like. When the user reinstructs the facsimile transmission, it is considered that the destination has been confirmed for transmitting the facsimile.
