PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion source without requiring a help of air pressure at a time of generating atomization of aerosol. SOLUTION: The ion source is equipped with (a) a first ion spray emitter to generate ion, (b) a conduit adjoining the first ion spray emitter and having an opening designed to accept ions from the first ion spray emitter, (c) a first electrode adjoining the conduit and orienting ions from the first ion spray emitter towards the opening of the capillary tube, and (d) a conduit electrode orienting ions to the conduit.
