PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make variable an expansion ratio of a displacement type expansion machine in a simple configuration. SOLUTION: An expansion mechanism 50 is equipped with two rotary mechanism parts 70, 80 having mutually different displacement volumes. The outflow side of the first rotary mechanism part 70 having a small displacement volume is connected to the inflow side of the second rotary mechanism part 80 having a large displacement volume. A high pressure refrigerant is first introduced to a first high pressure chamber 73 of the first rotary mechanism part 70, and then flows in a second high pressure chamber 83 from the first low pressure chamber 74 passing through a communication passage 54 while expanding. The refrigerant after expansion flows out to an outflow port 56 from a second low pressure chamber 84 of the second rotary mechanism part 80. In the first rotary mechanism part 70, an introduction passage 61 is opened along the inner peripheral wall of the first cylinder 71. By changing the opening area of the introduction passage 61, an expansion ratio of the expansion mechanism 50 is changed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
