The method involves providing a lens in a clamp independent of a reference coordinate system. The centre of curvature of the outermost sphere of the lens is acquired and the position of the curvature is determined. Another lens is arranged on the lens surface after the application of an adhesive. The latter lens is adjusted on the generated optical axis of the former lens, and the adhesive is hardened. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for formation of a system composite lens (2) a measuring head for determining the centration error of a lens.
