<p>A system for the destruction of gas cylinders (30), which include the steps of connecting the cylinder to a flare(50) and causing the gas remaining in the cylinder to be burnt at the flare so that effectively all of the gas is removed there from, removing valves and fittings from the cylinder and locating the cylinder on a cradle (21) beneath a ram spike(24) and causing at least one puncture through the wall of the cylinder by operation of the ram. It also describes a unit which may be a trailer (10) or truck mounted to provide the means whereby the system can be applied.</p> |
