<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle unit for extremely reducing the memory capacity of an on-vehicle unit main body while enabling one on-vehicle unit main body to be used for a plurality of vehicles. <P>SOLUTION: When setup is executed, holder ID read from an on-vehicle unit holder 3 is stored in a table 14a for holder management in a memory 14 of an on-vehicle unit main body 2, and vehicle information read from a setup card in the on-vehicle unit main body 2, and transmitted to the on-vehicle unit holder 3 side is stored in a memory 114 of the on-vehicle unit holder 3. Therefore, a user who owns a plurality of vehicles is required only to own one on-vehicle unit main body 2, and the one on-vehicle unit main body 2 can be used for those vehicles.
