CLEANING DEVICE, PROCESS CARTRIDGE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform satisfactory cleaning by preventing the occurrence of a cleaning failure even when a photoreceptor having a crosslinking type charge transfer layer is used. SOLUTION: A photoreceptor drum 1 is the photoreceptor which is improved in wear resistance by using the crosslinking type charge transfer layer as a hard surface layer on the extreme surface layer part of the photoreceptor. A cleaning blade 8 of the cleaning device 5 is an elastic member of 300% modulus≥200×105Pa. The abutting pressure of the cleaning blade 8 on the photoreceptor drum 1 is specified to 50 to 200 N/cm2and the cleaning angle is set at 70 to 85°. As a result, the occurrence of the cleaning failure can be prevented even with the photoreceptor using the crosslinking type charge transfer layer in which the curing reaction unevenness due to a difference in the degree of crosslinking is generated and the stable abutting state in the cleaning blade edge in the abutting part between the cleaning blade and the photoreceptor is difficult to obtain.
