<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antifogging antifouling material which has a long life of an antifogging effect and an antifouling effect, can easily clean surface staining, and further can form high surface hardness. <P>SOLUTION: The antifogging antifouling material is formed by supporting a surface active agent containing at least an amphoteric surface active agent having surface active sites of both a cation group and an anion group in the molecule on a metal oxide. The cation group of the amphoteric surface active agent forms an electrical bonding with the metal oxide to become difficult to elute, and hydrophilicity can be imparted by the anion group of the amphoteric surface active agent.
