PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic control unit for a vehicle having a function for confirming sound around the vehicle according to the travel situation of the vehicle at low costs. SOLUTION: The acoustic control unit comprises a position detection means for detecting the current position of the vehicle; a microphone for detecting the sound around the vehicle; a detection area setting means for setting a detection area for detecting the sound around the vehicle; a position determination means for determining whether the current position of the vehicle is included in the detection area; a sound source sending means for sending a prescribed sound source into the vehicle; and a sound source sending control means for sending sound detected by the microphone to the sound source sending means as the sound source, when it is determined that the current position of the vehicle is included in the detection area.
