PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly and stably drive an objective in a lens actuator having constitution to drive a holder for holding the objective in a focus direction along a guiding member. SOLUTION: In the lens driving device 20 having the constitution where the holder 12 for holding the objective 11 and movably supported by a fixed member 13 is moved along the guiding member 16, a C-shaped magnet 25 having an aperture part 25s in a periphery direction is arranged on the outer periphery side of a coil for driving 14 attached to the holder 12, and a signal I for driving a lens is applied to the coil for driving 14. The lens driving device 20 is provided with an auxiliary coil 24 arranged on the aperture part 25s of the C-shaped magnet 25 and fixed on the outer periphery side of the coil for driving 14. In the early stage of driving the lens, the holder 12 is moved upward or downward while vibrating the holder 12 in a direction orthogonal to the extension direction of the guiding member 16 by applying the AC current (i) to the auxiliary coil 24.
