PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side wall cutting method and a device for a gutter-like structure which can improve workability and beautifully complete the work in a comparatively short period of time, when a horizontal cutting of the upper section of a narrow gutter-like structure such as a U-shaped gutter is performed. SOLUTION: This device is constituted by comprising a traveling machine body 2, and a cutting system device 3 which is attached to the traveling machine body 2, and for which a cutting operative surface 33a is horizontally arranged. For a cutting blade, the cutting operative surface 33a is horizontally arranged, and at the same time, the cutting blade is constituted in a manner to be freely biased in the lateral direction from the center of working. Also, the cutting blade is equipped with an auxiliary cutting blade having a smaller diameter than the width dimension of a guiding section U2 of the gutter-like structure U, and a main cutting blade 33M which approximately matches the outer diametrical width dimension of the gutter-like structure U in a manner to be freely replaceable. Then, a working starting space S is ensured to the gutter-like structure U by using the auxiliary cutting blade 33S first, and then, a simultaneous cutting by the main cutting blade 33M is performed for both of the right and left side walls U1.
