PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane separation method of manganese from soluble manganese-containing water which enables the removal of soluble manganese with a small consumption of a chemical. SOLUTION: A chlorine oxidizing agent is added to soluble manganese-containing raw water, and membrane filtration using a separation membrane is carried out. A part of soluble manganese is deposited on the surface of the separation membrane as manganese oxide. The treated water and concentrated water are circulated, which deposits and removes the residual soluble manganese by contact reaction with the manganese oxide. It is desirable that the amount of the added chlorine oxidizing agent is 50-150 mg/L, and that the circulating time of the treated water and concentrated water is 3 hours or longer.
