PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for improving the yield and selectivity of an objective product to be obtained in the first reaction of consecutive reactions. SOLUTION: An apparatus for producing a substance, in which a reaction product in the first reaction is produced as the objective product by reacting the substance A with the substance B between which consecutive reactions are advanced, is provided with: a minute flow passage; a mixing part comprising a flow passage for introducing a substance A-containing solution into the minute flow passage and another flow passage for introducing a substance B-containing solution into the minute flow passage; and a temperature control unit for controlling the temperature of a reaction system in the minute flow passage. The temperature control unit controls so that the temperature of the reaction system in the minute flow passage is higher than the reaction temperature when the substance A and the substance B are subjected to a batch reaction and lower than the boiling point of the reaction system.
