The head section (2) of the device (1) is introduced into the helical spring to be tensioned. Its form can be introduced into a penetration of one or more pressure plates inserted into the coil spring, where it (2) grips, either by an interference fit or by interlocking, forming a connection resisting relative rotation. The head (2) has radial interlocking projections (4). These lock into enlargements of a penetration through the pressure plate. Their numbers correspond, and they may be pushed into fitting engagement.
