The absorber has a surface unit (11) with a plastic foil (18) and a surface layer (22), and a number of micro channel openings (12) that are present in the unit. One of channel openings (20) is present in the foil, where the surface layer is introduced into the foil. The surface layer has other channel openings (26) in an area (24) of the channel openings (20). Width of the openings (26) is smaller than the width of the openings (20). An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a sound absorber.
