In an electron luminescence (EL) layer made of auto-emission material film, to form the EL layer with uniform thickness, a foundation layer of the EL layer has to be flattened and thus, an organic material film suitable for flattening is used for the foundation layer. However, due to the high water absorbability of the organic material film, degradation of the EL layer may be caused, leading to stopping emitting light. The solution provided by the electron luminescence device of the present invention is that the organic material film 10 that forms the foundation layer of the EL layer 12 comprises a flat part 16 and an inclined surface part 17a continuously set around the flat part 16. To suppress transmission of water to adjacent pixels through the organic material film 10, each pixel is separated with a signal line 2 separately and gaps 18a, 8b. |
