<p>A method and a system for assigning an address in a wireless data communication system are provided to keep security between the terminal and the network, by encrypting an internet protocol(IP) address assigned to the corresponding user. A wireless data communication system performs the wireless data communication with a mobile terminal(MT)(110), has an access point(120) and assigns the address for the wireless data communication on the basis of the authentication of the terminal. The user authentication to the terminal is performed when requesting the address assignment from the terminal. The internet protocol(IP) list to be allocated to the terminal for the user authentication process is received and encrypted. The encrypted IP list and the information of the user authentication are informed to the terminal. The IP address selected at the IP list and the mutual authentication with the terminal are requested by the terminal. The selected IP address is received and the selected IP address is assigned to the terminal if the mutual authentication is allowed.</p> |
