<p>A striker assembly for latch engagement has a striker piece and a striker mount which encapsulates a portion of the striker piece to secure and mount the striker piece on a structure for engagement with a latch. In one embodiment, the striker mount is formed by a pair of cooperating base pieces which include a mounting plate and a striker plate. The base pieces form a striker-receiving cavity for encapsulating a portion of the striker. Alternate forms of striker pieces and striker mounts are also described and claimed.</p> |
