The locking device (1) has a housing (3) enclosing a pivoted catch, cooperating with a counter-element, e.g. a pin, together with a pivoted security element (25) which blocks the movement of the catch. The housing has an insert (6) of a material of greater hardness, fitted with at least one of the bearing elements (13,23) for the catch and/or the security element before enclosing it in a softer material during formation of the housing.
