Even when the number of turns of a coil is changed, by using the same conductor pattern the types of conductor patterns and the number of layers stacked are reduced. A multilayer inductor having a coil forming portion where conductor patterns (10) forming a coil and insulating layers (12) are stacked is provided. The number of types of conductor patterns three; (1) a first conductor pattern including a lead connected to an external electrode and forming a little less than one turn; (2) a second conductor pattern which has one end overlapping with the inner end of the first conductor pattern, is symmetrical with respect to the coil center line parallel to the lead, and forms a little less than one turn; (3) a third conductor pattern which has one end overlapping with the inner end of the second conductor pattern, is symmetrical with respect to the coil center line perpendicular to the lead, and forms a little more than half turn. These three types are combined to form a coil of three or more turns.
