A cement-based material (1) is proposed, wherein the aggregate material (3) comprises alkali-resistant glass grit (5) in dimensions coming between 0.01 mm and 2.6 mm, said glass grit (5) being obtained by crushing AR glass elements and accounting for at least the major proportion of a powdered aggregate (3a), with granules having maximum dimensions of less than 0.5 mm and provided in quantities by weight comparable with or greater than the quantity by weight of the cement (2). The preparation of the material (1) includes a stage for crushing AR glass elements in a disk-type crusher and a subsequent grading stage to separate the various particle sizes of the aggregate materials (3).
