A throat plate for a circular knitting-machine has a roller rotatably mounted in the path of yarn fed from the feeding means to the needles of the machine. The roller 22 may be of hardened steel and is carried in holes 20 provided in lugs 14 with its upper surface in tangential relation with the platform 6 on which a yarn finger 26 rests when activated to feed yarn to the needles N. The forward edge of the roller is tangential to the arcuate edge of the throat plate which is itself concentric with the needle circle. In a second embodiment the roller is rotatably mounted on conical pivots and is provided with conical end flanges.</p> |
