892,082. Hose connectors. BAND-IT CO. Sept. 19, 1960 [June 20, 1960], No. 32099/60. Class 99(1). In a hose connector, a connector element has a hollow nipple 14 insertable into the end of a flexible hose 13 and an intermediate ring member 24 over which is fitted a ring 30 formed with arms, 27, 28 extending longitudinally of the nipple. The arms are provided with intermediate portions 40, 40a adapted to engage the outer surface of the hose and have outer end portions 44, 44a adapted to be bent over and engage a band clip 12 after the latter has been clamped over the portions 40, 40a to secure the hose to the nipple. As shown, the arms 27, 28 are of arcuate section and engage in corresponding grooves 25 in the ring 24, and the nipple 14 is formed with beads 20 terminating in a sharp vertex. A second bandclip 41a may be applied over the bent-over portions of the arms of the yoke. In modifications, (a) the connector element consists of two aligned nipples 14 for connecting hoses end-to-end, and, (b) the arms 27, 28 have provision for the accommodation of a pair of axially spaced band clips.
