A method for producing gamma aminobutyric acid(GABA) is provided to economically mass-produce the GABA, which is able to be used for health foods, medicines and products having brain blood flow improving, brain metabolism promoting and immuno-promoting effect. To mass-produce GABA, Coriandrum sativum L. cell is suspension-cultured in a culture solution containing 0.3-1.5 mg/L of 2,4-D until the stationary phase of cell growth.
