Vehicle key activation system

The system uses a vehicle key (1) which is capable of recording the signature of a driver for operating an assigned vehicle. The recorded signature can be changed for operating different vehicles. The vehicle key includes a programmable chip (4) for storing the driver's signature, and a radio interface (5) for key activation. A programming device (2) is used to program and record signatures in the vehicle key. An independent claim is included for the vehicle key.
