<p>A method introduces an elongate member, such as a ground loop or reinforcing bar, into the ground. A drill head 10A is drilled into the ground by a tubular string 16. The drill head has an aperture 30 and the string has a bore 18 communicating with the aperture. The elongate member is introduced into the ground through the aperture as the string is withdrawn. The aperture may be located off-centre from the drill axis, in order to avoid obstructions. Alternatively, the aperture has a large mouth to prevent blockage. The ground loop or reinforcing bar may be used in the creation of ground heat energy systems or concrete piles respectively.</p> |
