A bridge platform (30) and method of erecting the same wherein a plurality o f cables (70) extend longitudinally of the bridge (10) in spaced relation below the deck (12) or roadway (12) and steel support structure of the bridge ( 10), which cables (70) are supported at opposite ends by the spaced-apart vertical piers (18, 20) of the bridge (10) and wherein a plurality of platform flooring panels (160) or sections are supported on the cables (70), extend laterally of the bridge (10), are arranged side-by-side along the length of the bridge (10) between the piers (18, 20) and are removably secured to the cables (70). The cables (70) are attached to the bridge piers (18, 20) by compression clamp structures (82). The platform flooring sections (160) comprise elongated rectangular corrugated decking panels (160) and are arranged in end-to-end overlapping relation transversely of the brid ge (10), side-to-side overlapping relation longitudinally along the bridge (10) and with the corrugations extending transversely of the cabl es (70).
