A noise reducing material between floors in a building and a composition thereof are provided to reuse waste polyester cord and prevent environmental pollution and to improve sound-absorbing, insulating, and vibration-absorbing properties. A noise reducing material between floors in a building comprises waste polyester cord extracted from waste tire of 100 weight part; calcium carbonate of 50Œ10 weight part; crude rubber or regenerated rubber of 30Œ5 weight part; stearic acid of 2Œ0.5 weight part; sulfur of 2Œ0.5 weight part; zinc oxide of 1Œ0.5 weight part; tetramethyl thiuram disulfide of 1Œ0.5 weight part; and sodium sulfonate of 0.5Œ0.2 weight part to absorb noise and vibration and to insulate heat between the floors in the building. A method for manufacturing the noise reducing material includes several steps for mixing the above mixture in a kneader for 10 to 20 minutes; passing the kneaded mixture between two rollers into a sheet shape; mixing sulfur powder of 2Œ0.5 weight part on the surface; and extruding into a sheet as the noise reducing material. |
