A display device, a use authentication method thereof, and a display system are provided to offer an anti-thief function considering convenience of a user without inputting a password even if the display device is turned on again. An interface(12) performs both-way communication with an image source(20) and receives unique ID information of an ID device(23) from the image source. The ID device is installed to the image device and includes the unique ID information for discrimination among the devices performing the same function. A data storing part(14) stores registered ID information. A controller(15) determines whether an image signal received from the image source is displayed to a display part(11) according to the matching result between the received unique ID information and the registered ID information stored in the data storing part. The ID device of the image source includes a network module connected to the network and the unique ID information includes a MAC(Media Access Control) address of the network module.
