A system for communicating between a terminal equipment (202) and a mobile equipment (204) in a wireless communication system (200), includes, in the terminal equipment (202) an application (212), a communication stack (220), and a hardware driver layer (230). The communication stack (220) includes a communication socket (222) and a first network adapter component (226), the application (212) communicating with the communication stack (220) via the communication socket (222). The hardware driver layer (230) includes a second network adapter component (232), the first network adapter (226) component communicating with the second network adapter component (232). The mobile equipment (204) includes a communication driver (240), the second network adapter component (242) communicating with the communication driver (240), through which the terminal equipment (202) communicates with the mobile equipment (204).
